Old but gold here today, with some magnetic polishes. Yeah, magnetics are coming back in fashion because of some Russian magic, but when they showed up a few years ago, they didn't catch on. I think this is a shame because I love them! I regret only having three of them. Two happen to be Barry M, so here we go!
Barry M "Magnetic Burgundy" is a burgundy metallic polish. [Obviously.] The magnetic is a darker burgundy.
2 Coats Barry M "Magnetic Burgundy" + "Venus Sunset"
So, quick backstory: this was bought from Poundland about 4 years after the magnetic collection went by. So this formula was already old and, as it says, the bottle was only £1, super cheap. Th big issue with my "MB" is not Barry M's fault, which is that my magnetic polish does not have a magnetic. I actually laughed when I saw it, but this I was sad, because the stencil showed it to be diagonal lines. This is why in this, I used the magnet in the other Barry M. Just a quick explanation. I also really love radial patterns, even if they're difficult to centralise.
Onto the polish itself. It never dries. This could be because of age or repackaging, or whatever, but it's terrible. The colour is pretty enough and a one coater, but magnetic polishes need a minimum of two. The colour shift in the magnetic polish is not amazing, I'd have liked to see a little more difference rather than just a darker version of the admittedly beautiful shade. Ugh, anyway, at least it's easy to take off.

Barry M "Venus Sunset" is a brown metallic-shimmer polish. The magnetic is burgundy.
Now this is more like it! I don't remember why I picked this colour - brown isn't my thing but I was probably trying to be quirky - but I don't regret it. It's one classy polish! Neutral on its own, and stunning when magnetised. The burgundy magnetic almost fades at different angles, and kind of looks like a cat eye. I love it!
The main flaw with this, and all magnetic polishes, is the magnet itself. It's hard to position, particularly with the radial shape, and has to be done really quickly to get all of the polish to move. Quickness equals sloppiness, so the magnet won't be placed perfectly and may brush against the polish. But when it works, boy does it work!
